    An AMBER Alert has been issued for 2-year-old Christopher Cooper, who was abducted on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, near Kentwood, Louisiana. Authorities are urgently seeking help from the public in locating him and the suspect, James Mercier.

    What Happened

    Christopher Cooper, a 2-year-old black male, was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on September 30, 2025, in a vehicle on Interstate 55-South near Kentwood, Louisiana. Authorities believe he was abducted by James Mercier, a white male. Cooper is described as having brown eyes, short black hair, and wearing a red shirt, black pants, and blue Crocs. He is approximately 3’2″ tall and weighs 40-50 pounds.

    James Mercier, the suspect, is described as having brown eyes and brown hair, standing at 5’9″ tall and weighing around 160 pounds. His clothing description is currently unknown.

    Mercier and Cooper are believed to be traveling in a white 2011 GMC Yukon with Mississippi license plate PJT070.
