    Family of Sacramento Helicopter Crash Victim Asks for Prayers for Suzie Smith and Her Crew

    The family of Suzie Smith, a victim of a tragic helicopter crash in Sacramento, is asking for prayers and support for her and the rest of her crew. The crash occurred on Highway 50 on Monday evening, shortly after the crew dropped off a patient at UC Davis Medical Center.

    What Happened

    On Monday evening, October 6, 2025, a REACH helicopter carrying three crew members crashed onto Highway 50 just minutes after dropping off a patient at the UC Davis Medical Center. The crew included a male pilot, a female paramedic, and a female nurse.

    One of the women, later identified as Suzie Smith, was trapped in the wreckage. Bystanders rushed to help, lifting the helicopter off her so first responders could safely pull her out. Suzie, along with her fellow crew members, has been hospitalized in critical condition.

    Family’s Message

    The family of Suzie Smith has issued a heartfelt statement, asking for prayers and support. “Those who know Suzie know that she is a tough and strong woman. Additionally, she has an amazing faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If anyone can overcome these challenges, it’s Sue,” the family wrote.

    They also expressed gratitude to the first responders and bystanders who acted swiftly to assist in the rescue, calling their actions “truly amazing.” Furthermore, the family thanked the REACH Medical family for their overwhelming support during this difficult time.
