LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police have arrested Jazmine Brown, 22, in connection to a double homicide that occurred in the Okolona neighborhood of Louisville. Brown was arrested on October 20, 2025, and charged with two counts of complicity to murder and one count of receiving stolen property.
The Incident
The homicides took place at the Falcon Crest Apartments, located in the 9000 block of Napa Valley Court, on September 29, 2025. The victims, two young men, were shot and killed inside their apartment while asleep. According to police, Brown allegedly orchestrated the crime, planning with three unknown co-defendants who are suspected of carrying out the shooting.
Brown’s Role in the Crime
Police stated that Brown was in communication with the shooters just before the crime took place. She informed them that the door to the apartment was unlocked, and the victims were inside. After the shooting, Brown reportedly showed up at the scene, telling officers that she and the victims were roommates.
A handgun that had been reported stolen was found in Brown’s closet during the investigation, further linking her to the crime.
Community Reaction
Beth Bangasser, a local resident who has lived in the neighborhood for five years, expressed shock upon learning that a woman was involved in planning the killings. She stated that while she initially thought the incident involved a dispute between a couple of men, learning of Brown’s role was a surprise.
“I thought it was just a couple guys involved and, you know, they had a beef with a couple other guys,” Bangasser said. “But, you know, to have a woman behind it all and planning everything, that’s surprising.”
She added that the community is now more vigilant, with neighbors taking safety more seriously after the shooting.
Legal Proceedings
Brown’s bond has been set at $1 million, and she is scheduled to appear in court again on October 29, 2025. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) continues to investigate the case. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
