Wilkes County, N.C. — October 22, 2025 – A tragic crash on NC Highway 16 early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of Kelly Jordan Holleman, 53, of North Wilkesboro. The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. near Grindstone Lane, when Holleman’s 2018 Honda CR-V collided head-on with a 2019 Subaru Forester.
What Happened
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), Holleman was driving north on NC Highway 16 when her vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with the southbound Subaru. Holleman was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The driver of the Subaru, whose identity has not been released, was critically injured in the crash. Emergency responders airlifted the driver to a Winston-Salem medical center for treatment. As of now, the condition of the injured driver remains unknown.
