Saint Anthony, Idaho – October 26, 2025 – The Saint Anthony community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Mitch Logan Fadness, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 29. A devoted father, loving son, and loyal friend, Mitch’s passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing him.

    What Happened

According to family reports, Mitch Fadness passed away unexpectedly on October 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and courage. News of his passing has deeply affected the Saint Anthony community, where he was known for his infectious humor, boundless energy, and deep devotion to his young daughter, Ava.

Loved ones are remembering Mitch as a man who embraced life fully—balancing his passion for the outdoors and mechanics with the gentle and imaginative spirit of a devoted father.

    A Father’s Love and Joy

Above all else, Mitch Fadness was a devoted father to his 5-year-old daughter, Ava, whom he affectionately called “Daddy Mitch’s girl.” Their bond was one of pure joy and creativity — filled with arts and crafts, dress-up adventures, and shared laughter that filled their home.

Even in small details, Mitch’s devotion shone through — at the time of his passing, his fingernails and toenails were painted by Ava, a tender symbol of their playful bond. He never hesitated to join her in her world of imagination, proudly wearing the hairstyles she gave him and becoming any character she dreamed up.

Mitch dedicated every moment to nurturing Ava’s curiosity and love for life, creating a home filled with color, music, and endless wonder.

    The Spirit of Adventure

Beyond fatherhood, Mitch was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved the sunshine, open skies, and road trips, often traveling from Idaho to southern Nevada to chase warmth and new adventures.

He was frequently seen around Saint Anthony with Ava and her dog, Sweetie Pie, cruising through the neighborhood — Mitch on his One Wheel and Ava riding along in a jogging stroller, both smiling from ear to ear. To those who saw them, it was a portrait of joy — a father and daughter completely in tune with life’s simple pleasures.

    A Mechanic’s Ingenuity and Strength

Mitch’s talent as a mechanic was well known. He approached every engine as a puzzle to be solved, demonstrating remarkable ingenuity and resilience — even after a life-changing accident at age 13 left him with only a thumb and a single finger on his left hand. Despite this, Mitch never slowed down.

He took pride in overcoming challenges, working tirelessly on cars and engines, and sharing his love for Toyota vehicles, especially his three Priuses. His craftsmanship, humor, and fearless confidence earned him respect among fellow mechanics and admiration from his community.

As one cousin fondly remarked, “His hair, his lips, his smooth-talking — yeah, he was all that.”

    Family, Friends, and Legacy

Mitch is survived by his beloved daughter Ava, his parents Les and Angie Fadness, siblings Blake and Natalie Fadness (children Audrey, Josie, and Remi), Riley Gilbert (children Quinn and Maci), and Conner Fadness (Krystal), as well as his grandparents Robert and Lynda Reiley.

He will forever be remembered for his unconditional love, sense of humor, and adventurous spirit — a shining example of resilience and kindness. To those who loved him, Mitch was more than a friend or family member; he was a beacon of warmth and authenticity whose presence made every day brighter.

    Services and Memorial Details

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony Stake Center, followed by interment at the Tetonia Cache Clawson Cemetery. A family dinner will follow at the Tetonia Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover funeral costs and future expenses for Ava.

    Remembering Mitch

Though his life was heartbreakingly short, Mitch Fadness’s legacy lives on through his daughter, his family, and the countless lives he touched. His story is one of love, resilience, and fatherhood — a reminder that even in a short time, one person’s light can illuminate the lives of many.

As his community mourns, they celebrate the beautiful memories he left behind — from neighborhood rides and laughter-filled nights to the unwavering love he shared with his daughter.

Mitch’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience — proof that even a brief life can leave an immeasurable impact.
