Brooklyn, New York | August 14, 2015-The tragic and mysterious disappearance of Aliyah “Li Li” Boomer, a 27-year-old nursing student, has left her family in despair, desperately searching for answers. Aliyah, affectionately known as “Li Li” by her loved ones, was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, who was last seen on the evening of August 14, 2015. She was attending a barbecue at Prospect Park, Brooklyn, with a close friend.
What Happened
The night began like any other summer evening in Brooklyn, but it quickly turned into a devastating mystery. Aliyah had planned to return home the next day for her mother’s birthday celebration, but she never made it. The last confirmed sighting of Aliyah came after an argument with a friend on their way back to the friend’s home at 444 Columbia Street in the Red Hook housing projects. The friend declined to join Aliyah at a second barbecue, but Aliyah went alone.
According to her family, the final phone call Aliyah made was at 3:00 a.m. on August 15, to her sister. Tragically, her sister missed the call, and that was the last time anyone ever heard from Aliyah.
Despite a diligent search by her family, there have been no leads, and Aliyah has not been found. This absence of information has caused immense heartbreak, especially for Pastor Victoria Boomer-Harris, Aliyah’s mother, who has lived for nearly a decade with the unknowns of her daughter’s fate. As her mother states, “Not knowing where your child is… Not knowing if she’s eating, sleeping, dead or alive.”
A Chilling Twist and Anonymous Tip
Years after Aliyah’s disappearance, an anonymous letter postmarked from the Bronx surfaced, shedding new light on the case. The letter claimed that Aliyah had been sent on a “lick” — a term for a drug run gone wrong. The writer mentioned their deceased uncle, who allegedly lived in the building where Aliyah was last seen. This tip claimed that Aliyah spent time with a couple who lived on the third floor of the building, and ominously, the writer stated: “Everybody in that building knows what happened to her.”
The letter provided a haunting clue, but the mystery remains unsolved.
Family’s Fight for Justice
Aliyah’s mother, family, and friends are determined not to let her name fade into the shadows of time. Despite suffering from illness, heartbreak, and years of unanswered questions, they continue to fight for justice. A $10,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to answers about Aliyah’s whereabouts.
