Hoover, Alabama – 14-year-old Kohen Reamsma, a freshman at Hoover High School, has made waves in the world of high school sports by achieving an unprecedented feat in bowling. In his second appearance with the Hoover Bucs varsity team, Kohen rolled a perfect 300 game — the first in the school’s history. His achievement has made him the BMOC (Big Man On Campus) this week, overshadowing even the school’s many talented athletes.

What Happened: Kohen’s Historic 300 Game

The momentous event took place just two days ago during a highly competitive match between Hoover High School and Oak Mountain at Oak Mountain Lanes. Despite being just 14 years old and standing at 5-foot-5 and weighing 115 pounds, Kohen showcased immense talent and poise under pressure. He began by rolling a strike, followed by another, and then another. As the tension built, Kohen continued to hit strike after strike, eventually jumping into the air after securing his perfect game — 12 consecutive strikes, each one adding to the excitement of the crowd and his teammates.

Kohen’s Journey to a Perfect Game

Kohen’s journey into bowling began at the age of 7, following in the footsteps of his older sister Kaleigh, who also bowled at Bumpus Middle School and Hoover High. Kohen’s dad, Matthew, shared that his son has always been passionate about the sport, which led him to pursue bowling seriously, eventually earning a spot on the varsity team.

On the day of the match, Kohen’s historic performance was a testament to his dedication and hard work. His achievement marked the first perfect game in the history of Hoover High School bowling — a milestone that will not soon be forgotten by the team, school, and community.

    A Future in Bowling

When asked about his future in the sport, Kohen expressed his aspirations to attend Wichita State University, known for having one of the top bowling programs in the country. Kohen dreams of making a living on the PBA Tour, following in the footsteps of professional bowlers who have risen to fame through similar dedication and passion.

    Public and School Reactions

Kohen’s stunning performance has captured the attention of not only his teammates and coaches but also the broader Hoover High School community. As the school reopens, athletes from various sports including football, basketball, track, volleyball, and softball will be back in action, but this week, Kohen is the undisputed BMOC. His perfect game has earned him accolades and admiration, and his story is inspiring young athletes everywhere.
