The Millsboro community is mourning the loss of 76-year-old Peter Roskowski, who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on Friday, November 7, 2025, in Sussex County, Delaware. The crash, which occurred on John J. Williams Highway, marks the second deadly accident in the county that day.

    What Happened:

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, Delaware State Police responded to a devastating two-vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway near Layton Davis Road. Authorities report that a Dodge Ram, driven by Peter Roskowski from Millsboro, was traveling west when it apparently crossed over the median and collided with the front left side of an eastbound Ford box truck.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene quickly, but despite their efforts, Roskowski was declared dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the Ford truck, a 63-year-old man from Cape Coral, Florida, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

    Investigation and Official Statements:

Delaware State Police have launched an investigation into the factors surrounding the crash. Authorities are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Delaware State Police at 302-703-3267.

This crash is the second deadly incident reported in Sussex County on Friday, following an earlier fatal collision on Route 1 near Milton. The Delaware State Police are working to gather further details about both incidents.

    Public Reactions:

The sudden loss of Peter Roskowski has left the Millsboro community in shock, and tributes have begun to pour in for the well-liked local resident. His family and friends are grieving the loss of a kind and beloved individual, while others reflect on the deep impact he had on those around him.

    Closing:

Peter Roskowski’s death is a tragic reminder of how quickly life can change. The community continues to send their condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
