MONTROSE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Tragedy has struck the Montrose Township and Clio communities after 19-year-old Mason TerBurgh was killed in a construction accident on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Authorities say Mason was operating a mini excavator at a job site on Wilson Road when the machine slid down a wet, icy incline and overturned, fatally injuring him.

    What Happened

According to Montrose Township Police, the fatal workplace accident occurred on the 12000 block of Wilson Road shortly after midday. 19-year-old Mason TerBurgh was maneuvering a mini excavator when the equipment lost traction on a slick, sloping area of the work site.
