William Herbert, Olly Mitchell Obituary, Death; – Two young individuals lost their lives in a vehicular accident on New Year’s Day, which is profoundly sorrowful.
William Herbert, aged 16, from Howden, and 18-year-old Olly Mitchell from Ellerton were tragically involved in this incident in Preston. The police are providing support to their families during this challenging period. The collision occurred at approximately 1:20 PM when a grey Volkswagen Golf struck a black Vauxhall Grandland. Regrettably, William was declared deceased at the scene.
Olly subsequently succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Additionally, two other passengers sustained injuries; a 16-year-old girl is in critical but stable condition, while a 17-year-old boy is serious but stable.
In the Vauxhall, a 62-year-old man was hospitalized, but his injuries are no longer life-threatening. The driver, a 34-year-old woman, suffered an arm injury, and two other passengers experienced minor injuries. The 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. This situation is overwhelming for all parties involved.
The police have released the names of the deceased young men and are requesting privacy for their families during this extraordinarily difficult time.
