According to a statement from Amtrak, a man was killed on Saturday at around 3:52 p.m. while he was crossing the tracks on his way from Chicago to Miami when he was hit by one of their trains.

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) reports that railroad crossing incidents continue to rank as the second most common cause of train-related fatalities in the United States.
The crash is being looked into by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Amtrak investigators and CSX police also arrived on the scene.
